We hope that you have been having fun with your kids this holiday.
Here are two more suggestions in case you have run out of things to do.

1. Explore the great outdoors at the Botanic Gardens and enjoy the free movie screening while you are there. X-Men Apocalypse will be screened on 18 March at 7.30pm

2. Another place to enjoy the great outdoors is Hay Dairies where you can watch the milking of the goats and try your hand at feeding them as well. It’s a great opportunity for the kids to have a glimpse the rural side of life (well, at least as rural as it gets in Singapore!)

While almost everyone will be in favour of the children having R & R time this holiday, we are sure that the spectre of the SA1 looms in the back of the minds of many parents. This is especially so if the children didn’t do so well in CA1.

Allow us to digress a little and to put the CA1 into perspective. Consider that in many schools the CA1 was a revision of the topics learnt in previous years. So for most Primary 6 children, P3-P5 topics would have been tested in CA1. In school, however, they would have been learning new topics. So if you noticed a dip in grades for CA1 it means that they have forgotten some concepts and need to revise the P3-P5 topics. No need to press the panic button yet but definitely a good time to start a structured revision program or at least start planning one so that the scenario is not repeated for SA1.

So by all means have fun with your children, allow them to let their hair down but do spend some time helping them plan their revision for the coming months.

Have fun!
